About Winix filters

Winix names its filters by letter (Filter A, H, S, Q, X2 and so on) and each also has a numeric code, for example Filter A is 115115 and Filter H is 116130; Filter A fits the 5300, 5500, 5300-2, 6300-2, C535, C909 and AM90 among others. Winix says to change the True HEPA filter every 12 months and the carbon filter every three months, and the Filter A pack is sold as a one-year set with a HEPA filter and four carbon filters. Homes with pets or smoke will need changes more often.

Look at the rating label on the back or the underside of the purifier: the model is the type code (AUS-1250AZPU, WXAP800W, 5500-2), not the marketing name. The filter pack code (GT, GI, GQ…) is printed on the old filter's frame.

2Twist or lift the top cover off and lift the old cylindrical filter set out.
3Take the new filters out of their plastic bags and drop them in with the pull tab up.
4Put the cover back, plug in, and hold the filter reset button until the filter light goes out.
