- 1Unplug the filter and close the hose valves before you disconnect it.
- 2Open the filter and lift the media baskets out of the canister.
- 3Rinse foam in water from the aquarium; rinse BIOMAX in aquarium water only: Fluval says never to rinse it with tap water.
- 4Fit new carbon foam about every month (Fluval says carbon lasts about a month in an aquarium).
- 5Put the baskets back in the same order, close the filter, then prime and restart it as its manual describes.
