How long it lasts
Replace it when the cell no longer makes enough chlorine after cleaning and with the salt level right, Davey says; the plates' coating wears away with use and life varies from pool to pool.
After replacing: No reset needed. Turn the unit back on once the pump is running and the cell is full of water.
How to change the DES2C25REPAU chlorinator cell
Watch the guide or follow the steps.
No clear video for this part yet. The steps cover it.
- 1Turn the Nipper and the pool pump off, so the pump cannot start while the cell is out.
- 2Disconnect the flow switch and the cell lead from the top of the cell housing.
- 3Undo the cell nut and lift the old cell out, taking care not to lose the O-rings.
- 4Fit the new cell and tighten the cell locking nut, then run the pump and check for leaks. If it leaks, take the nut off and check the O-ring for debris or damage.
- 5Make sure the terminals are dry, refit the cell lead and flow switch, and turn the Nipper back on.
