  1. 1Before any cleaning or calc'nClean programme, take out the brewing unit, rinse it under running water and put it back. On the built-in models, open the door first.
  2. 2CTL636, CT636, CT836 and VeroBarista (TIS65): choose Clean in the service menu, empty the drip tray when asked, then open the ground-coffee drawer, drop in one cleaning tablet and close it.
  3. 3Series 8 CTL7 and CTL9: open Care & maintenance, choose Cleaning and follow the display. The tablet goes only into the brew chamber of the brewing unit.
  4. 4Series 2 VeroCafe (TIE20) has no separate clean: hold the calc'nClean button for about 5 seconds, take out the brewing unit, put one cleaning tablet into its duct and refit it. This programme also needs a descaling tablet dissolved in the water tank.
  5. 5Put a container under the outlet (at least 0.5 litres, or about 1 litre for calc'nClean) and press start. A clean takes about 5 to 9 minutes; calc'nClean about 26 to 43 minutes.
  6. 6Empty the drip tray and wipe the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Never put a descaling tablet in the ground-coffee drawer or the brewing unit.
