How to change your Melitta water filter

Steps for the PRO AQUA filter cartridge (6784658), the water filter 10 Melitta models take. Change it every 2 months.

  1. 1Stand the new cartridge in a jug of fresh tap water for a few minutes.
  2. 2Display models (Barista, Passione, Varianza, CI Touch): open the menu, go to Care > Filter > Insert filter (or Change filter) and press Start.
  3. 3Button models (Purista, Latticia, Avanza): hold the Service or Water/Service button for 2 seconds and step to the Filter function.
  4. 4Follow the machine: empty the tank, screw the cartridge into the bottom of the tank, fill with fresh water and let the filter programme run.
  5. 5Change it every 2 months, or sooner when the machine asks.

Turn off the filter light

Register the new filter in the menu (Care > Filter > Insert filter or Change filter on display models; Service mode on button models). The Filter light then resets.
