Hisense French door fridges use a ceiling-mounted internal cartridge. Older models such as the HR6FDFF701SW take the Daewoo-made DW2042FR-09, while Hisense Australia sells the K2100988 replacement filter for the HRCD585, HRCD650, HRFD560 and HRFD634. Hisense recommends a new filter every six months; the K2100988 is NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certified for chlorine taste, lead and mercury reduction.

Fitting it
A few minutes, no tools. Watch it done, then follow the steps.
- 1Open the fridge door and find the filter housing at the top of the fresh-food compartment; on most models a small cover flips down.
- 2Turn the old filter a quarter turn anti-clockwise and pull it straight out. A little water may drip; keep a cloth handy.
- 3Take the caps off the new filter, push it into the housing and turn it clockwise until it stops.
- 4Run 4 litres of water through the dispenser to flush the carbon, then reset the filter light (hold the filter or reset button for 3 seconds).
