How to change the 17218-Z45-000 pre-filter

- 1Stop the engine and let it cool, with the generator on a flat, level surface.
- 2Loosen the maintenance cover screw and remove the maintenance cover, then unsnap the air cleaner cover clips and remove the cover.
- 3Take the foam air filter out of the cover. Clean it in warm soapy water (or a non-flammable solvent) and let it dry; fit a new one if it is damaged.
- 4Dip the foam in clean engine oil and squeeze out the excess without twisting it.
- 5Refit the foam in the cover, refit the air cleaner cover and the maintenance cover, and tighten the screw.
