1Turn the start lever to OFF and let the engine cool.
2Remove the spark plug cap, then remove the plug with a spark plug wrench or socket.
3Check the old plug: replace it if the insulator is cracked or chipped, or clean it with a wire brush.
4Seat the plug and thread it in by hand to prevent cross-threading, then tighten it to 26 N·m.
5Refit the spark plug cap.
