1Stop the engine and let it cool, then disconnect the spark plug wire and keep it away from the plug.
2Open the air filter cover and lift out the cartridge with its foam pre-cleaner.
3Take the old pre-cleaner off the cartridge. To reuse it, wash it in liquid detergent and water and let it air-dry fully; do not oil it.
4Fit the new (or clean, dry) pre-cleaner over the cartridge and seat the cartridge firmly on the air filter base.
5Refit the cover and tighten its knobs or screws.
