  1. 1Stop the engine and let it cool, then pull the cap off the spark plug.
  2. 2Unclip the latch tabs or undo the wing bolt and remove the air cleaner cover.
  3. 3Take out the paper element. On Bull models (HRU197, HRU217) take the outer foam out of the housing too; HRU19R and HRU19D have no foam.
  4. 4Wipe dirt from inside the air cleaner housing and cover with a damp rag, keeping dirt out of the duct to the carburettor.
  5. 5Fit the new paper element (and the clean, oiled foam on Bull models), refit the cover and clip or tighten it securely.
