How to change the blade in your STIHL mower
Steps for the mower blade 6372 702 0100 (RMA 353) (6372 702 0100), the blade 2 STIHL models take.
- 1Switch the mower off and remove the batteries. Wear protective gloves: the blade is sharp.
- 2Remove the grass catcher box, set the cutting height to position 4, fold down the handlebar and stand the mower upright on its handle (service position).
- 3Block the blade with a piece of wood, unscrew the blade screw and remove it with its washer, then take off the blade. Throw the old screw and washer away.
- 4Fit the new blade next to the fan wheel so the raised areas engage in the notches, put the new washer on, and apply threadlocker (Loctite 243 or 242) to the new screw.
- 5Screw it in, block the blade with the wood and tighten to 35 Nm.

Common questions
- What happens if I don't change the blade?
- A blunt blade tears the grass tips, which then brown, and a bent blade makes the mower vibrate and wears the engine or motor.

- STIHL makes the genuine blade. Compatible blades for STIHL models are made by other companies to fit the same models, and Australian sellers we track list both; each part page shows the genuine and compatible prices side by side.
- Is there anything to reset after changing the blade on a STIHL mower?
- No reset needed.
