1Switch the hood off and let it cool. Press the catch on the grease filter, tilt it down and lift it out.
2Wash it with a soft nylon brush in hot water with a little washing-up liquid, or stand it upright in the dishwasher's lower basket on a 50-65 °C programme.
3Let it dry on an absorbent surface. Wipe any grease off the housing you can now reach.
4Refit the filter with the latch facing outwards; if it is damaged fit a new one instead.
5Reset the grease filter counter.
