How to change the filter media in your Aqua One Maxi 104F

Watch the guide or follow the steps.

Aqua One Maxi Internal Filters - 103F/104F · Aqua One (official)
  1. 1Unplug the filter and any other equipment in the tank, as Aqua One advises and lift it out of the tank.
  2. 2Pull the filter casing off the motor and take out the sponge, and the carbon cartridge or pouch if your filter has one.
  3. 3Rinse the sponge gently in a bucket of water taken from the aquarium to flush out solid waste, then throw that water away. Aqua One says never to rinse it under the tap: chlorine kills the filter's bacteria.
  4. 4Put the sponge back, or fit a new one once the old one blocks up or breaks down.
  5. 5Put the media back in the casing, refit it to the motor, put the filter back in the tank and plug it in. Check that water flows.
