How to change the chain in your Husqvarna 3120 XP

- 1Stop the saw (on a battery saw, take the battery out) and put on protective gloves.
- 2Remove the bar nuts and the clutch cover, and slacken the chain tensioning screw.
- 3Take off the old chain. Lift the new chain over the drive sprocket and into the bar groove, starting at the top edge of the bar, with the cutter edges facing forward on the top of the bar.
- 4Refit the clutch cover with the chain adjuster pin in the hole in the bar, and tighten the bar nuts finger-tight.
- 5Turn the tensioning screw clockwise until the chain does not hang below the bar but still turns easily by hand.
- 6Hold up the nose of the bar and tighten the bar nuts with the combination wrench. Check the tension often until the new chain has run in.
