How long it lasts
Replace it when chlorine output stays low with the salt at about 4000 ppm, pH at 7.2 to 7.4, enough run time, a sound cell connection and the calcium cleaned off, Pentair says; it gives no set life.
After replacing: No reset needed. Switch the unit back on and set the output again.
How to change the cell in your Pentair FreeFlo FFCL-25-RPD

- 1Turn the chlorinator off (Pentair says working on the cell with it on will damage the unit) and turn the filter pump off.
- 2Have the cell lead disconnected from the power pack: Pentair says only a qualified electrical technician should open it.
- 3Undo the cell lock nut and lift the old cell out of the cell casing.
- 4Fit the new cell with the cell union O-ring in place and tighten the lock nut by hand.
- 5Have the lead reconnected the same way, start the pump and check for leaks, then turn the chlorinator on and set the output.
