How long it lasts
Replace it when the low-salt light stays on even though the salt level is right and the cell is clean, Zodiac says; fit the cell made for your model, or the chlorinator will not work properly.
After replacing: No reset needed. Once water flows through the new cell the controller reads it again; set the output again if you changed it while the cell was out.
How to change the cell in your Zodiac LM3-40
Watch the guide or follow the steps.
- 1Switch off the filter pump and the chlorinator, and close any valves either side of the cell.
- 2Unplug the cell terminal cap (the cell head and plug).
- 3Unscrew the retaining ring and lift the old electrode out of the cell housing.
- 4Fit the new electrode with its O-ring in place and screw the retaining ring back on by hand. Use the electrode made for your model.
- 5Refit the cell head and plug, reset the valves and switches, and turn the pump and chlorinator back on.
