Watch the guide or follow the steps.

How to replace the filter cartridge of a Z Series System · Puretec Group (official)
  1. 1Turn off the water to the filter and open the filtered tap to let the pressure out.
  2. 2Take all the wrapping and caps off the new cartridge.
  3. 3Turn the old cartridge a quarter turn anticlockwise, pull it down out of the head and throw it away.
  4. 4Push the new cartridge into the head and turn it a quarter turn clockwise until the arrows on the head and cartridge line up (SPARQ: until it stops and the lock labels line up).
  5. 5Turn the water back on and check for leaks, then run the filtered tap for 5 minutes, or until the water runs clear (SPARQ: ambient button for 2–5 minutes).

Common questions
What does the Z7-R fit?
The Puretec Z7-R PureMix quick-twist cartridge (1 micron, for harsh water) fits the Puretec PureMix Z7. Compatible filters made to the same specification also fit.
How often should I replace the Z7-R?
Every 6 months. Flow slows and performance drops off as the filter fills up, so it's worth doing on time.
Where can I buy the Z7-R in Australia?
We track 5 Australian sellers for the Z7-R; the lowest listed price when we last checked was A$92.58 at eBay AU. Prices are re-checked daily and dated on this page.
How do I fit the Z7-R?
No tools, a few minutes: 5 steps, listed on this page with the replacement video where the maker has one.
What happens if I don't change it?
The carbon stops reducing chlorine taste and odour and the flow from the tap slows as the cartridge clogs; a boiling-water tap with a scale-reducing filter builds scale in its tank faster.
Is there anything to reset afterwards?
No reset light. Write the date on the cartridge.
