How long it lasts

Replace it when the pad material has holes or has broken down and no longer soaks up water, Brivis says; it lists pads as a consumable to check from the fifth year at its two-yearly service.

After replacing: No pad reminder to reset. After new pads are fitted, the cooler runs a Pre-Wet to soak them before the fan starts; a mild smell from new pads is normal and clears quickly, Brivis says.

How to change the pad kit in your Brivis F46

Watch the guide or follow the steps.

No clear video for this part yet. The steps cover it.

  1. 1Brivis says its coolers must be maintained only by an authorised person, and recommends an authorised Brivis service technician: book one through Rinnai's Brivis service line. Before any work, switch the cooler off at the wall control and at its power isolating switch.
  2. 2The cooler must have safe and reasonable access, Brivis says; some installations need two service people. Do not go onto the roof without safe access.
  3. 3Check the old pads: Brivis says pads deteriorate over time and lose their ability to soak up water, so replace them when the material has holes or has broken down.
  4. 4Fit the new pad set in place of the old pads, then clean and flush the pads with water.
  5. 5With the pads in position, switch the isolating switch back on and run the cooler. Check the pump runs and the pads wet evenly; a mild smell from new pads is normal and clears quickly.
