- 1Stop the engine and let it cool, then disconnect the spark plug wire and keep it away from the plug.
- 2Open the air filter cover and lift out the cartridge with its foam pre-cleaner.
- 3Take the old pre-cleaner off the cartridge. To reuse it, wash it in liquid detergent and water and let it air-dry fully; do not oil it.
- 4Fit the new (or clean, dry) pre-cleaner over the cartridge and seat the cartridge firmly on the air filter base.
- 5Refit the cover and tighten its knobs or screws.
