How to change the 17210-Z1V-003 air filter

- 1Stop the engine and let it cool, then pull the cap off the spark plug.
- 2Unscrew the two air cleaner nuts and lift off the air cleaner cover.
- 3Take out the filter and slide the outer foam off the paper element. Replace the paper element if it is torn, damaged or too dirty to clean by tapping it on a hard surface.
- 4Wipe dirt from inside the air cleaner housing and cover with a damp rag, without letting dirt into the duct to the carburettor.
- 5Fit the clean, oiled foam over the new paper element, refit them and the cover, and tighten the nuts securely. On HRU196K1, HRU196M1, HRU216K2 and HRU216M2 check the snorkel hose is attached.
