How to change the blade in your Masport mower

  1. 1Stop the engine and wait for the blade to stop, then remove the spark plug lead and keep it away from the plug. Wear protective gloves.
  2. 2Drain the fuel, then tilt the mower with the spark plug uppermost, as the engine book says.
  3. 3Undo the blade centre bolt and take the blade carrier (disc) off the mower, noting where each part goes.
  4. 4Undo the tip mounting bolts and fit the new blades with the new bolts, washers and nuts from the set. Replace all the blades on the carrier together.
  5. 5Refit the carrier so its slots sit over the lugs and the drive plate; replace the mounting bolts if they are worn. Tighten the tip bolts to 20-25 Nm and the centre bolt to 45-50 Nm.
