Replace it when it is worn or torn; OASE lists the foams as wear parts and gives no interval.

How to change the 70240 pond filter foam

Watch the guide or follow the steps.

OASE Filtral UVC - OASE Product Guides - Filtral All-in-one Pond Filter & UVC Clarifier · Oase United Kingdom (official)

1Unplug the Filtral from the mains.
2Release the clamps on the upper filter shell and lift the shell off.
3Take out the filter media: a blue (coarse) and a red (fine) foam, the bio surface elements and the bag of filter ceramic.
4Fit the new foams. OASE says to clean the rest of the media and the filter shells with clean tap water and never to use aggressive cleaning agents.
5Refit the upper shell, close the clamps and plug the unit back in. The viewing window shows the UVC lamp is on.
