How to change the sealing ring in your Breville pressure cooker
Steps for the Fast Slow seal lid (silicone lid seal) (SP0008961), the sealing ring 2 Breville models take.
- 1Unplug the cooker, let it cool and open the lid.
- 2Unscrew the sealing nut from the centre of the lid and pull the lid away from the lid arm.
- 3Take the old silicone lid seal off the wire ring on the underside of the lid.
- 4Fit the new seal securely around the wire ring and adjust it so it sits evenly with no twists.
- 5Refit the lid with the steam release valve housing to the rear, line it up with the bolt on the lid arm and screw on the sealing nut until the red seal touches the lid.
After fitting the ring
No reset: the maker's manual describes no ring reminder.
Common questions
- What happens if I don't change the sealing ring?
- A worn ring lets steam leak around the lid, so the cooker is slow to reach pressure or will not seal at all.
- Is there anything to check after changing the sealing ring on a Breville pressure cooker?
- No reset: the maker's manual describes no ring reminder.
