How long it lasts
Replace it when a membrane no longer lies flat on the valve head, or a part is worn or torn; Medela says to check parts for wear or damage before each use.
After replacing: No reset: the pump has no reminder for this part, so set your own.
How to change the valve in your Medela Swing
Watch the guide or follow the steps.
- 1Wash your hands with soap and water and dry them on a clean towel.
- 2Pull the yellow valve head off the connector and peel the old white membrane off the valve head.
- 3Wash and sanitise the new valve and membrane before first use.
- 4Lay the new membrane flat on the valve head and push the knob on its back into the smallest hole until it engages; it must lie flat.
