How long it lasts

Replace it when the low-salt light stays on even though the salt level is right and the cell is clean, Zodiac says; fit the cell made for your model, or the chlorinator will not work properly.

After replacing: No reset needed. Once water flows through the new cell the controller reads it again; set the output again if you changed it while the cell was out.

  1. 1Switch off the filter pump and the chlorinator, and close any valves either side of the cell.
  2. 2Unplug the leads from the cell terminals, including the blue sensor wire on the sensor post.
  3. 3Undo the two barrel unions joining the cell housing to the pipework and lift the old cell out.
  4. 4Fit the new cell the same way round and tighten the barrel unions so they do not leak.
  5. 5Dry the terminals, smear them lightly with silicone grease and refit the leads. Reset the valves and switches, turn the pump and chlorinator on and check the output.
