How long it lasts
Replace it when the low-salt light stays on even though the salt level is right and the cell is clean, Zodiac says; fit the cell made for your model, or the chlorinator will not work properly.
After replacing: No reset needed. Once water flows through the new cell the controller reads it again; set the output again if you changed it while the cell was out.
How to change the cell in your Zodiac LM2-40
Watch the guide or follow the steps.
- 1Switch off the filter pump and the chlorinator, and close any valves either side of the cell.
- 2Unplug the leads from the cell terminals, including the blue sensor wire on the sensor post.
- 3Undo the two barrel unions joining the cell housing to the pipework and lift the old cell out.
- 4Fit the new cell the same way round and tighten the barrel unions so they do not leak.
- 5Dry the terminals, smear them lightly with silicone grease and refit the leads. Reset the valves and switches, turn the pump and chlorinator on and check the output.
