How to change the water filter in your Puretec TS200

Watch the guide or follow the steps.

No clear video for this part yet. The steps cover it.

  1. 1Close the ball valve to stop the water, then open the filtered tap to let the pressure out.
  2. 2Put a container underneath and unscrew the housing bowl with the spanner. Throw the old cartridge away.
  3. 3Wash the inside of the bowl with warm soapy water. Check the O-ring, grease it lightly with food-grade silicone and replace it if it is kinked or damaged.
  4. 4Put the new cartridge in and screw the bowl back on hand tight. On twin units the sediment cartridge goes on the inlet side and the carbon cartridge on the outlet side.
  5. 5Open the ball valve, check for leaks and run the tap for about 10 minutes. Milky water is just air and clears.

About your TS200

Puretec filtered water tap, tap or under-sink system — Puretec TS twin under-sink filter and tap kit. Its water filter is the CB951 carbon block cartridge (0.5 micron, 10 inch), part CB951, changed every 12 months.

Also in this filtered water tap: Puretec PX051 polyspun sediment cartridge (5 micron, 10 inch) (every 12 months). Stage 1 (sediment).

Where the model number is: On a boiling or chilled water tap the model is on the label on the unit under the bench, not on the tap itself. On an under-sink system it is on the filter head or housing; the cartridge code is printed on the old cartridge.

Common questions
Which water filter fits the Puretec TS200?
The Puretec TS200 takes the Puretec CB951 carbon block cartridge (0.5 micron, 10 inch). Stage 2 (carbon block, taste and odour).
How often should I replace the water filter in my Puretec TS200?
Every 12 months. Flow slows and performance drops off as the filter fills up, so it's worth doing on time.
Where can I buy the CB951 in Australia?
We track 3 Australian sellers for the CB951; the lowest listed price when we last checked was A$125.00 at Cass Brothers. Prices are re-checked daily and dated on this page.
How do I fit the CB951 in a Puretec TS200?
5 steps, listed on this page with the replacement video where the maker has one.
What happens if I don't change it?
The carbon stops reducing chlorine taste and odour and the flow from the tap slows as the cartridge clogs; a boiling-water tap with a scale-reducing filter builds scale in its tank faster.
Is there anything to reset afterwards?
No reset light. Write the date on the housing.
