Common questions
- How often should I change a Puretec filter?
- Every 12 months for the Z1-R Ultra Z quick-twist cartridge (0.1 micron), the most common Puretec water filter here. Each model page shows the interval for its own water filter.
- What happens if I don't change the water filter?
- The carbon stops reducing chlorine taste and odour and the flow from the tap slows as the cartridge clogs; a boiling-water tap with a scale-reducing filter builds scale in its tank faster.
- Does Puretec make a compatible filter?
- Puretec makes the genuine filter. Compatible filters for Puretec models are made by other companies to the same shape and flow rate, and Australian sellers we track list both; each part page shows the genuine and compatible prices side by side and the certifications we could confirm.
- How do I reset the filter light on a Puretec tap or under-sink system?
- No reset light. Write the date on the cartridge.
