How to change the water filter in your Puretec X4
Watch the guide or follow the steps.
- 1Put a container under the filter to catch drips.
- 2Turn off the water and open the filtered tap to let the pressure out.
- 3Pull the tubes out of the push-in fittings at each end of the old cartridge and throw the cartridge away.
- 4Unwrap the new cartridge and push the tubes into each end, with the flow arrow pointing the way the water runs.
- 5Turn the water back on, check for leaks and run the tap for 5–10 minutes; milky water is just air and clears.

About your Puretec X4

Puretec filtered water tap, tap or under-sink system — Puretec X series inline under-sink filter. Its water filter is the IL150Q silver-impregnated inline cartridge for X4, part IL150Q, changed every 12 months.
Where the model number is: On a boiling or chilled water tap the model is on the label on the unit under the bench, not on the tap itself. On an under-sink system it is on the filter head or housing; the cartridge code is printed on the old cartridge.

- The Puretec X4 takes the Puretec IL150Q silver-impregnated inline cartridge for X4.
- How often should I replace the water filter in my Puretec X4?

- Where can I buy the IL150Q in Australia?
- We track 2 Australian sellers for the IL150Q; the lowest listed price when we last checked was A$149.00 at eBay AU. Prices are re-checked daily and dated on this page.

- No tools, a few minutes: 5 steps, listed on this page with the replacement video where the maker has one.
- What happens if I don't change it?
- The carbon stops reducing chlorine taste and odour and the flow from the tap slows as the cartridge clogs; a boiling-water tap with a scale-reducing filter builds scale in its tank faster.
- Is there anything to reset afterwards?
- No reset light. Write the date on the cartridge.
