How long it lasts
Replace it when the pads are damaged or blocked, Bonaire says; check and hose them down at the start and end of summer, and have the cooler serviced every year.
After replacing: No pad reminder to reset. If your installer turned on the service reminder, the spanner icon on the Bonaire Navigator control appears after 700 hours of running; it is a service reminder, not a pad timer. Bonaire's Pad Clean function (Navigator control) runs a 20-minute wash of the pads.
How to change the pad kit in your Bonaire VSS55
Watch the guide or follow the steps.
No clear video for this part yet. The steps cover it.
- 1Isolate the cooler from the power before any work. Ensure the roof is safe to access, your ladder is securely positioned and use suitable safety equipment, Bonaire says; it recommends its trained service technicians or an authorised Climate Technologies service provider for this work.
- 2Remove a louvre panel: lift it about 15 mm off the corner post notch, tilt it back from the top and lift it away. Put it down where it will not be damaged.
- 3Take the old pad out of the louvre panel: remove the old clips, or cut off the old plastic retaining spikes with side cutters.
- 4Place the new pad in the louvre panel and fix it with new Filtercool clips and washers (retaining spikes on older units), pushed through the pad onto the vertical ribs until the pad sits firm against them.
- 5Refit the louvre and repeat for the others, then restore the power and run the cooler. Check the pads wet evenly; the Navigator control's Pad Clean function runs a 20-minute wash.
