How long it lasts

Replace it when the pads are in poor condition or salted up, Seeley says; have them checked at the service before summer, at least every 2 years on a home cooler.

After replacing: No pad reminder to reset. After fitting new pads, run Pad Flush from the MagIQtouch settings menu if your cooler has one, or fill the tank, run the pump for about 5 minutes and drain it, to clear the smell of new pads.

How to change the pad kit in your Coolair CPQ1100

Watch the guide or follow the steps.

No clear video for this part yet. The steps cover it.

  1. 1Turn the cooler off at the wall control, then switch it off at the isolating switch inside the cooler. Seeley recommends an authorised Seeley dealer or service agent for any work on the roof: climbing onto the roof is hazardous, and its manuals say maintenance is for a qualified, licensed technician.
  2. 2Working at heights needs extra safety precautions, Seeley warns: only go up if you can reach the cooler safely. Remove each pad frame: insert a flat screwdriver tip into the slot and lever until it lets go, pull the frame towards you until the internal side clips release, then pivot it outwards and lift it up.
  3. 3Pull out the pad pins and washers and lift out the old pads. On the LCS, note the rebates: each 120 mm pad goes where its rebate clears the float valve or drain valve.
  4. 4Fit the new Chillcel pads with the header block at the top, and push new pins and washers through until they sit flush. Check the pins and washers are not damaged.
  5. 5Refit the frames and clips, switch the power back on and run the cooler; never run it with the pad frames off. Flush the new pads: use Pad Flush in the MagIQtouch settings menu if you have it, or fill the tank, run the pump for about 5 minutes and drain it. Check that the pads wet evenly.
