How to change the air filter in your Honda EG5500CXS

Watch the guide or follow the steps.

No clear video for this part yet. The steps cover it.

  1. 1Stop the engine and let it cool, with the generator on a flat, level surface.
  2. 2Unsnap the two air cleaner cover clips, remove the air cleaner cover and take out the element.
  3. 3Wash the element in household detergent and warm water (or a non-flammable solvent), rinse it and let it dry thoroughly. Fit a new one if it is torn.
  4. 4Soak it in clean engine oil and squeeze out the excess; too much oil makes the engine smoke at start-up.
  5. 5Refit the element and the cover, making sure both clips are properly hooked.
