How to change the BPR5ES spark plug
Watch the guide or follow the steps.
- 1Let the engine cool, pull the cap off the spark plug and clean the dirt from around it so nothing falls into the engine.
- 2Remove the plug with a spark plug wrench.
- 3Check the gap on the new plug: Honda gives 0.7-0.8 mm. Correct it if needed by carefully bending the side electrode.
- 4Screw the plug in by hand until it seats, so it does not cross-thread.
- 5Tighten a new plug a further 1/2 turn with the wrench to compress the washer (a used plug 1/8-1/4 turn), then refit the cap. Too loose and it overheats; too tight and it damages the cylinder head thread.
