  1. 1Stop the engine and let it cool, then disconnect the spark plug wire and keep it away from the plug.
  2. 2Remove the old plug with a spark plug socket or wrench.
  3. 3Check the gap on the new plug with a wire gauge: .030 in (0.76 mm) on the 675EXi and 725EXi (model 100000) engines. Reset it if needed.
  4. 4Install the plug and tighten it to 20 Nm (180 lb-in).
  5. 5Reconnect the spark plug wire. If your engine came with a resistor plug, Briggs & Stratton says to fit the same type.
