How long it lasts
Replace it when a cleaned element still reads 30–40 kPa above the new-filter pressure, or is damaged; AstralPool says to check once a year.
After replacing: No reset light. Note the gauge reading with a clean element; AstralPool says to clean it when the gauge rises 15–20 kPa.
How to change the cartridge in your AstralPool XC75
Watch the guide or follow the steps.
No clear video for this part yet. The steps cover it.
- 1Turn the pump off at the power point. Open the air bleed valve on the lid until the gauge reads zero, then close the valves on the suction and return lines.
- 2XC and ZXC: take off the drain cap at the base to empty the tank, then refit it.
- 3Unscrew the locking ring anticlockwise (XC and ZXC: hold up the release tab first). Lift the lid off with the ring and pull the cartridge straight out.
- 4Hose the cartridge with a garden hose and nozzle, working between the pleats before it dries. Do not use a pressure cleaner. Fit a new cartridge if it is torn or no longer comes clean.
- 5Seat the cartridge on the spigot in the base (ZX and ZCF: fit the top spigot into it too). Check the lid O-ring and use only non-petroleum lubricant.
- 6Screw the ring down clockwise until the safety catch clicks. Hand tight is enough. Open the valves, start the pump and bleed the air.

If the label has worn off, measure the old cartridge's length and diameter.
