How to change your Hayward filter cartridge

- 1Shut off the pump. If the filter is below water level, close the valves.
- 2Take out the drain plug and open the manual air relief valve to drain the filter.
- 3Press the safety latch and unscrew the lock ring anticlockwise. Lift off the filter head with the ring.
- 4Lift the cartridge out. Hose it inside and out (do not pressure wash), or fit a new one.
- 5Sit the cartridge evenly on the hub in the base, refit the head with its O-ring and tighten the lock ring until the safety latch engages.
