How long it lasts
Replace every 2 months (~50 L or 2 months) — the appliance's filter light tells you when.
After fitting: No manual reset: the RFID chip is read when the cartridge is fitted, the machine switches to filter mode and rinses, and it prompts for a change when capacity is used. On models with the filter extension, twist the old cartridge anticlockwise to remove, clip the extension onto the new one, push in and twist clockwise until it clicks.
Flow slows and taste drops off as the filter fills up. Changing on time is the whole point of the filter.

Fitting it

- 1Take the water tank off the machine and empty it. Lift the old CLARIS Smart+ cartridge out of its holder in the tank.
- 2Set the month on the new cartridge's dial, then push it firmly into the holder until it seats.
- 3Fill the tank with fresh cold water and refit it. The machine detects the new cartridge and rinses it; let the rinse water run into the drip tray.
- 4Replace when the machine asks for it, about every 2 months or 50 litres.
