How often to descale

After descaling: The descaling alert clears once the descale and rinse cycles finish. On Vertuo Next, Pop and Pop+ the cycle cannot be stopped; if the machine is unplugged it restarts in descale mode and both cycles must run again. Creatista and Lattissima models lock after a set number of drinks if the alert is ignored.
How to descale your Nespresso Lattissima Touch

- 1Descale when the descaling alert shows orange. Lift and close the lever to eject any capsule, then empty the drip tray and used capsule container.
- 2Pour one bottle of descaler and 500 ml of water into the water tank. Open the pipe storage door and plug the descaling pipe into the steam connector; the machine goes into descaling mode and Warm Milk Froth lights up white.
- 3Put a container that holds at least 1 litre under both the coffee outlet and the pipe nozzle, then press Warm Milk Froth. The solution runs through the coffee outlet, pipe and drip tray until the tank is empty.
- 4Empty the used capsule container and drip tray, rinse the tank and fill it with fresh water to MAX. Press Warm Milk Froth again to rinse.
- 5When the machine switches off, remove and store the pipe, empty the drip tray and capsule container, and refill the tank with fresh water. Wipe the machine with a damp cloth.
